Workspace View

Overview

The workspace view shows the files and folders in your current workspace. It is where you navigate the project, review file status, and start common actions like add, edit, delete, or lock.

Kimura uses strong visual signaling on directories and files so you can quickly see what changed, what is currently in progress, and which parts of the workspace may need attention.

When you use it

You use the workspace view whenever you need to locate files, review their status, or start file operations.

What you can do here

  • Browse folders and files in the workspace tree
  • Start file operations from context menus
  • Read status indicators on files and directories to understand pending, submitted, or active work at a glance

Visual signals

  • Files or directories containing modified files appear in blue.
  • Bold text indicates local operations.
  • Italic text indicates operations from other users.
  • Transparent file entries indicate files that are not present locally or files being added by other users.
  • Colored operation markers indicate who is performing the operation: blue for local operations and red for other users.
  • Files display their current revision over the total number of available revisions.
  • Files that are not at the latest revision use a dedicated icon.

Typical flow

  1. Locate a folder or file in the tree.
  2. Right-click to add, edit, delete, or lock.
  3. Confirm the file appears in the correct change list.
